Create rule on sonicwall to only allow mail server to send out on port 25 SMTP

1 Go to Firewall and acess rules

2 Clicl on Lan > Wan

3 ADD

Specify the following setting and leave the rest as it is:

Action: Deny

Service: SMTP (Send e-mail)

Source: Lan Subnets

Destination : ANY

 Make sure the enable loggin is checkmarked and allow fragment.. is checked marked as well.

 

 

Now you need to add another rule with the following settings:

 

Action: Allow

Service: SMTP (Send E-mail)

Source: You have to choose an address object that contains exchange ip address that was created in the past usually it will have exchange name on it created by uses when we opened the ports on initial router setup.

Destination: ANY

Make sure the enable loggin is checkmarked and allow fragment.. is checked marked as well.

 

 That is it make sure that the users can send e-mail from their outlook and that you can receive a test e-mail from them on your personal e-mail.
